3700系は1996年に登場しました。3500系に比べて車体断面が大きく、座席も増えています。3100系はインバータ制御の3X00系列で初めての2両編成でした。両系列は幹線・支線の両方で使われています。3700系と3100系は、名鉄の鋼製通勤車として最後期の車両でした。
Series 3700 was introduced in 1996. Compared with Series 3500, it has a larger body cross-section and more seats. Series 3100 was the first two-car trainset in the inverter-control 3X00 group. The trains is used on both main lines and branch lines. Series 3700 and 3100 were among Meitetsu's last steel-bodied commuter trains.
