117系は国鉄が開発した近郊形電車で、名古屋地区ではJR東海に引き継がれました。片側2扉と転換クロスシートを備え、東海道本線の快速輸送で使われた車両です。
Series 117 was a suburban train developed by JNR and inherited by JR Central in the Nagoya area. Two doors per side and reversible transverse seats distinguished the trains used on Tokaido Main Line rapid services.
