Series 700 have similar performance to series 300, but the series have more comfortable riding. The double-skin aluminum body shlter the cabin from noises, and inter-body dumpers avoid pitching and yawing. In 2010, the series are the main force in Tokaido-sanyo Shinkansen, and serve as Nozomi, Hikari and Kodama.
700系は、300系の改良版として 1999 年に登場しました。300系に比べ快適性の向上に重点が置かれています。車体はアルミのダブルスキン構造で、車体間にはダンパが設置されています。塗装は 300 系と同じ白に青のラインがですが、帯の意匠が異なります。2010年現在、「のぞみ」「ひかり」「こだま」すべてに用いられる、東海道新幹線の主力です。
