Series 400 is designed for Yamagata Shinkansen "Tsubasa" in 1992. While their body size is the same as that of non-Shinkanse JR stocks, they can run in the speed of 240km/h. Now E3 has taken over the roll, and all 400 stocks has withdrawn. E926 checks all the Shinkansen tracks in JR-East.
400系は、初代の山形新幹線の車両です。車体限界が小さいため、新幹線区間ではステップが出て、ホームとの隙間を埋めます。1992 年から製造され、東京-山形間で活躍しましたが、2010年に全車引退しました。E926系は、線路設備の検査を行う車両で、E3 系をベースに 2001 年に登場しました。JR 東日本の全新幹線の検査を行います。
